We offer all inclusive, reliable and competitively-priced services for those requiring transportation of bulk cargoes, full or part loads and temperature-controlled goods. We carry all types of cargo - from small packages to abnormal loads, waste/recycling, chilled and frozen goods, building supplies and industrial materials. Our involvement in the renewable and energy sector ranges from transporting materials to Shetland for the development of the UK’s largest onshore wind farm to carrying surplus hydrogen from the inner islands to mainland Orkney.
Our Orkney depot handles all traffic heading north and south via Serco Northlink Ferries and Pentland Ferries. There is a twice daily service from Inverness to Scrabster and Orkney and a daily service between our other mainland depots ( Aberdeen, Inverness and Cumbernauld). The depot is located at Hatston in Kirkwall to allow good access to the ferry services to Aberdeen and Lerwick and is midway between the other ferry terminals at Stromness and St Margaret’s Hope. We employ over 20 people locally at our depot in Kirkwall, including freight coordinators, drivers and mechanics – all with a useful insight and knowledge of the local community.
Orkney services include:
- General haulage
- Refrigerated Transport
- Large Hiab Truck
- Plant and machinery movement
- Storage and warehousing
- HGV workshop services.
We are specialists in the transportation of dangerous goods. Our team includes a dangerous goods safety advisor, our drivers are trained under ADR regulations and freight staff in the transportation of dangerous goods by sea.
Beyond Orkney, we have strategically located logistics hubs in Scotland with access to the vessels and European terminals of parent company, Sea Cargo and we offer pallet distribution services across the UK, Ireland and Europe through a partnership with UPN.
Our ISO quality standards demonstrate that we meet customer and other stakeholder needs. We are certified to ISO 9001:2015 (quality management), ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management) and ISO 45001:2018 (occupational health and safety) standards.
